Phallosplasty and Tattoos

Phalloplasty is the construction or reconstruction of a penis, or the artificial modification of the penis by surgery, often for cosmetic purposes. The term phalloplasty is also occasionally used to refer to penis enlargement. There are four different techniques for phalloplasty. All of the techniques involve taking a graft of tissue from a donor site and extending the urethra.

Glansplasty is the name of the procedure to fabricate or reconstruct the glans penis. It is an accessory step in phalloplasty for the purpose of an anatomically correct penis. While it incorporates the urethral os (opening) for bodily functions, current techniques do not allow for sexual sensation. In addition, it must be tattooed proper color to best simulate the cissexual male penis.
