Postmortem Morgue Photography

Cleaning the body is the first step in the process of embalming.

Seeking an artery for transfusion of formaldehyde.

The next step is to drain the body, with a hydro aspirator.

When draining the body, all liquids are removed, predominantly blood

Injecting formaldehyde into the femoral artery

This 80 year-old female decedent succumbed to a heart attack.

Shows the decomposition of the body, rigor mortis and bruising

Plugging the orifices with cotton

Covering the orifices prevents the corpse from leaking

The body dressed and made up as requested by the deceased's family
